Tuning a guitar with a piano
While a guitar goes out of tune every few days, a piano stays in tune for years! Thus , it's a reliable tuner. Press the "E" note. If you don't know where the E note is, hold on. Look at the keyboard carefully. Eventually, you'll notice that there are two groups of keys. The first group has three white keys and two black keys in the middle. The second group has four white keys and 3 black keys in the middle. The E note is the third white key in the first group. If you still don't get it, just ask a family member or a friend. Once you've found the E note, play it, and tune your 6th string so that it sounds at the same pitch as the note from the piano, Note: make sure the E note on the piano is around the same pitch as the guitar note. If it's too high, just bring it down an octave. Then proceed to find the rest of the notes on the piano, and tune your strings to them. Tuning a guitar with a tuner This is just too easy. There are a whole lot of different types of guitar tuners out there. The basic rule of using guitar tuners are: Pick your string, and tune it up or down until you get that little needle on the tuner to get in the center. Often, this is accompanied by a little green light. Tuning your other guitar strings Once you've got your 6th string in tune, you don't even need another tuning device. You can simply use your 6th string to tune your other string. Press down the 5th fret on the 6th string and pick it. Now, tune you 5th string to match that pitch. Once you've done that, press down on the 5th fret of the 5th string, and tune the 4th string to match that pitch. Press the 5th fret on the 4th string, and match that pitch by tuning your 3rd string. Now, press down on the 4th fret of the 3rd string and tune your 2nd string to that. Finally, press down on the 5th fret of your 2nd string, and tune you 1st string to that. There, you're all done!
